"The Moehau" is my first radio play, commissioned by Radio New Zealand for the 2008 Worldplay series. Worldplay is a collaboration between six radio producers worldwide: Radio New Zealand (NZ), the BBC (UK), L. A. Theatreworks (USA), ABC (Australia), CBC (Canada) and RTÉ (Ireland). Each country produces one play, and broadcasts all six in turn.
"The Moehau" was recorded at the Radio New Zealand studios in Wellington, produced by Adam Macaulay and engineered by Phil Benge. I was lucky enough to attend most of the recording sessions, and was able to tweak some of the dialogue on the fly; even rewrote scene 8 on the train one morning. Oh yeah. Rock'n'roll. (This version still has the old scene).
"The Moehau" is also still available as an audio stream from the RTÉ website - so you can listen as you read.
